Production design for K-12 educational curriculum at Amplify, ensuring brand and accessibility standards were held firm across large-scale print and digital deliverables. Partnered with curriculum developers, content teams, and design leadership to adapt national programs—like California’s Language Studio—for state-specific standards, taking materials from markup through final production files.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

I worked on the beta phase of Language Studio, Amplify’s designated ELD (English Language Development) program used alongside the CKLA curriculum. The program spans four components across grades K–5: Teacher Guides, Activity Books, Digital Compilations, and Program Guides.

My work focused on updating the current version of Language Studio to align with CKLA 3rd Edition, following a comprehensive technical guide (example below) that outlined style differences between lower and upper grade files—ensuring consistency was maintained across different grade-level formats.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

I supported the update of the latest Language Studio edition (3E) to meet California state requirements, a project that required integrating CA ELD standards throughout the program while preserving parity with the national curriculum.

Scope of work included:

Adding CA ELD standards to primary focus objectives and sidebars across Teacher Guides and Activity Books
Revising and adding supporting content to fully cover ELD standards
Creating new lessons to close gaps between CKLA 3E and Language Studio, ensuring 1:1 parity
Addressing a global checklist of sidebar and icon updates

My role: I ensured all files adhered to Amplify’s design style guidelines, reviewed all proofs, and uploaded final web and print PDFs along with supporting material.

I assisted with the creation of new documents and design patches to ensure full ELD standards coverage. This involved building new lessons and supporting materials from scratch, then working them into existing Teacher Guides and Activity Books—matching established formatting, style, and grade-level conventions
